DIY Jenga (Video)

For the summer party episode of Holiday Makeover, I crafted an awesome colouring table. What’s a colouring table? Think of a colouring book you can eat on! 🙂 Cool, huh? I also DIY’d a jumbo toppling tower game using power tools, varnish, and paint.

“You take a block from the bottom and you put it on top, you take a block from the middle and you put it on top…”

Hi! I’m Denise Wild, one of the hosts of Makeful‘s original series, Holiday Makeover.

I’m going to show you how to make a fun, DIY game that you can bring to any backyard party.

For this project, you’ll need:
– Eight 8-foot two-by-fours
– A sander
– Varnish
– A saw
– A measuring tape
– Paint

You want the length of one of your blocks to be the width of three stacked together, so I’m measuring 10.5″ and marking that. Next thing, I’m going to cut the wood. Next up, run a sander over the flat surfaces. That will remove any splinters and round out the corners we’ve just cut. Once you’re finished sanding your blocks, you want to varnish them to give them a nice, finished look. You can either leave them natural like this, or you can personalize them.

Stack, pull, topple.

Bring these to your outdoor party for everyone to enjoy!
