Cute DIY Felt Animals (Video)

Learn how to make cute DIY felt animals with my new obsession– the Sew Cool sewing machine! This little sewing machine for kids is basically a felting machine: it has multiple needles that go up and down super fast, which causes the two layers of fabric to “felt” together. The fibres mash together where the needles penetrate, causing the fabrics to stay together along the path of the needles, “stitching” the two together, but without using thread.

The Sew Cool machine works best with thick, malleable fabrics like felt, and you don’t have to worry about little fingers — the needles are covered with a plastic safety guard that stays in place while sewing.

It’s a threadless sewing machine. Everything is pre-cut and included; you just stitch around, stuff, and adorn.

It’s a great way to spend the afternoon and a great way to introduce kids to sewing.
